Jet Aviation Basel is building a new widebody hangar and hiring more than 200 new workers to cope with its growing volume of completions work. The company has contracts to fit out the interiors of seven Boeing jets - four Boeing Business Jets and three 787s - over the next seven years.

“To handle this unprecedented high demand and to meet the ambitious deadlines for our aircraft delivery through 2014, we will open a new widebody hangar in Basel in the first half of next year and create more than 200 new jobs,” says Andre Wall, chief operating officer of Jet Aviation EMFA and Asia. The 9,600m2 hangar should be completed in the first half of 2008.

In addition to the new contracts, the company will also outfit more than 20 green Falcon jets annually for Dassault. Crews there are currently working on VIP interiors for a B757-200, an Airbus 330-200, a B747-200 and ten Dassault Falcon 900 and 2000 aircraft that will be delivered in the next nine months.
