A Fokker 50 freighter crashed into a building in Kenya’s capital city Nairobi in the early hours of 2 July, shortly after take-off.

Kenya Airport Authority confirms in a tweet that the aircraft “crashed at a commercial building in Utawala” after taking off from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

In a second tweet about an hour later, it adds that the four crew on board the aircraft are believed to have died, and that investigation teams from the country’s ministry of transport are onsite.

It is yet unclear which airline the crashed aircraft was operating under.
