DIAMOND DEALER

Australian sales, service and product support company Hawker Pacific has been appointed distributor for Diamond Aircraft throughout Australia and New Zealand. The agreement includes the twin-engined DA42, single-engined DA40 and DA20 and the new DA50 Magnum. Hawker Pacific, which will provide maintenance and support service for all aircraft sold, expects to fulfil its first Diamond orders later this year. Hawker Pacific represents Hawker Beechcraft and Bell Helicopter Textron in the region. "The appointment is part of our strategy to expand the range of products we offer in our core markets and the inclusion of the Diamond range of aircraft will add impetus to our already strong general aviation sales programme in Australia and New Zealand," says chief executive Alan Smith.

ROTOR DEAL

AgustaWestland has sold 10 AW139 medium-twin helicopters to Ornge, a non-profit organisation that co-ordinates Ontario's air ambulance system. The aircraft will be used for emergency medical service operations within the Canadian province. AgustaWestland has also clinched an order from Chevron for two AW139s to be used for offshore transport.
