China Eastern is the first customer to sign up for the second-generation Rockwell Collins drop down dPAVES in-flight entertainment system offered on Boeing's 737 Sky Interior.
The carrier is already a dPAVES customer, and plans to take delivery of the aircraft featuring the latest system upgrades in 2011. Rockwell Collins and Boeing announced the agreement to feature dPAVES in the new Sky Interior in July of this year.
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines has also selected the next generation of dPAVES for three Next Generation 737s.
New elements of the second generation of dPAVES include 160 gigabytes for audio and video content, integrated pre-recorded announcements and embedded Airshow 3D moving map functionality in a four modular component unit box. The large capacity high definition media server stores entertainment content for multiple play periods.
