Indonesia's new government has dismissed the 13-member board of state-owned Garuda Indonesia. It has replaced Indra Setiawan as chief executive with former executive vice-president finance, Emirsyah Satar, and has replaced Marsillam Simanjuntak as chairman with Abdulgani, former Garuda chief executive.

Finnair has announced that president and chief executive Keijo Suila, who took the position in January 1999, will retire at the end of this year. The carrier says it has begun the search for a successor.

Jon Karl Olafsson has been named chief executive of Icelandair. He formerly headed the company's Air Iceland domestic subsidiary.

Claus-Dieter Wehr, managing director-operations of German leisure carrier Condor, will become joint managing director at Hamburg Airport in July.

Virgin Nigeria has named ex-Kenya Airways executives Chris Smyth as chief financial officer and Steve Clarke as chief operating officer. Graham Kiddie, formerly managing director regional airports of the UK's Manchester Airports Group, is chief commercial officer.
