Flight International online news 08:00 GMT: Lan Airlines of Chile has placed firm orders for an additional six Boeing 767-300s scheduled for delivery through to October 2008.

Boeing says the order contains four 767-300ERs and two 767-300 freighters and builds on the three 767-300ERs and three 767-300Fs ordered by Lan last year.

A spokesman for the US manufacturer said the latest order was placed earlier this year. Boeing had already listed the deal on its books, but attributed it to an unidentified buyer.

Lan affiliate Absa Cargo took delivery of the first freighter at the end of July. The second will be delivered to Lan in October, with remaining deliveries scheduled through October 2008.

The list price for all 12 aircraft is $1.73 billion, said Boeing in a statement.
