Airbus has partnered with the maintenance arm of S7 Airlines to train engineers for both the carrier and third-party customers in Russia.

At the MAKS air show in Moscow, the airframer signed an agreement with Engineering Holding - S7 Group's MRO organisation, which includes S7 Engineering, Sibir Technics and ATB Domodedovo - to "develop a long-term maintenance partnership in the region".

S7 Engineering will thus be able to train A320 maintenance staff for S7 Airlines and other operators on Airbus's behalf, using the airframer's training methods and standards.

Airbus says that the contract has prompted it to translate its training media and syllabus into Russian and adapt the contents to local requirements.
