Marshall Aviation Services - the business and commercial aviation arm of Marshall Aerospace & Defence Group – is making its MEBA debut where it hopes to drum up interest from Middle Eastern customers in its expanding maintenance repair and overhaul provision.
“There is a clear demand in the EMEA region for our services and we are working on some exciting projects,” says Marshall Aviation’s vice president of business development, James Dillon-Godfray.
One “exciting project” which is likely to appeal to Middle East business aircraft owners, is the planned introduction of widebody VIP airliner completions. Marshall hopes to offer this service next year from its Cambridge airport base as an extension of its already substantial MRO offering
“Maintenance, repair and overhaul is at the core of what we do here,” says Dillon-Godfray.
In September 2013 Marshall acquired Beechcraft’s 50-year-old flagship European service centre in Broughton from where it provides engineering support services across a range of Hawker and Beechcraft products. “This is a popular MRO base with many Hawker customers from the Middle East who bring their aircraft to the UK for a variety of checks,” the company says.
Marshall also supports the Cessna Citation business jet and Bombardier’s Global Express family from its Cambridge base and is keen to expand the aircraft types in its MRO portfolio.
“We are now looking at the VIP airliner market,” says Dillon-Godfray. “We have both the capacity and the experience,” he adds.
The service will be housed in Hangar 17 at Cambridge - a popular destination for Middle East aircraft owners engaged in horse-racing and headed for Newmarket. The Hangar is now being upgraded to accommodate a brand new dedicated paint facility for a Boeing 747-size aircraft and an interior completions area.
