Bulgaria Air has contracted Lufthansa Technik Sofia for component support as well as line and base maintenance for its Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 fleet.

The national carrier, which is a subsidiary of Bulgarian Aviation Group - LHT's joint venture partner for the Sofia hangar - has signed a 10-year, flight-hour based component support agreement with the German MRO company, covering equipment pooling and repair services.

LHT Sofia will also provide line maintenance, light C checks and overhaul events (D checks) for the airline's nine A320, A319 and 737 Classic aircraft.

While the base MRO will be conducted in Sofia, the line maintenance will cover the carrier's stations in Varna and Burgas too.
