Nairobi-based cargo and charter company East African Safari Air has leased an ex-Martinair Holland Boeing 767-300ER from International Lease Finance for services from Mombasa and Nairobi to Paris and Rome. The airline is not connected to Uganda's East African Airlines, which was previously reported to have leased the aircraft. Spanish start-up operator Pullmantur Air has acquired its first aircraft, an ex-Air Atlanta Icelandic, General Electric CF6-80C2-powered Boeing 747-300. The 15-year-old aircraft is being taken on medium-term lease from Ansett Worldwide to support the European fly-cruise holiday market. It will operate between Spain and points in the Caribbean, transporting passengers to and from the company's established fleet of cruise ships in the West Indies and Bahamas. Air Atlanta Icelandic has signed a 12-month contract with Universal Airlines, based in Guyana, to provide a Boeing 767-300ER. The service, starting this month, involves passenger operations between Georgetown, Guyana, and New York, either direct or via Port of Spain, Trinidad. The contract includes flightdeck and cabin crew, maintenance engineers and operations staff.
