++ Aer Lingus has signed an agreement with World Airways to provide a Boeing MD-11 on wet-lease to be operated on services between Ireland and the USA between May and October 1998. Aer Lingus has an option to renew the lease for the same period in 1999. ++British Midland has placed orders for two additional International Aero Engines V2500-A5-powered Airbus A321-200s, for delivery in 1999. ++Reno Air has placed orders for two Boeing MD-90-30s, increasing its orders for the type to five. ++Irish airline Cityjet has purchased two British Aerospace 146-200s, along with spare engines, from US Airways, which it had been operating on lease. A third US Airways BAe 146 which Cityjet has been leasing, has been purchased by Malmö Aviation, but will remain on lease with Cityjet. ++ Sata Air Açores will introduce a second 737-300 in April 1998, with the delivery of a new-build aircraft on lease from GE Capital Aviation Services. ++ Aviation Sales has purchased five ex-United Airlines Boeing 747-100s which will be broken for spares. ++ Wuhan Airlines of China has taken delivery of its first 737-300 ordered directly from Boeing. The airline has three 737-300s already in operation which are leased from International Lease Finance (ILFC). ++ Airtours has signed a firm contract with Airbus for two Rolls-Royce Trent 772-powered A330- 200s for delivery in April and June 1999. It is understood that the aircraft will be delivered on lease from Airbus (not ILFC as reported previously). ++ SAS has added a Boeing MD-81 (ex-Swissair), which has been leased from CL/PK Air Finance for two years. ++ Azzurraair has introduced the first of four Avro RJ70s which are being transferred from sister company Air Malta. The other three aircraft will be introduced by the end of March. ++ German passenger and freight airline WDL has acquired one ex-TAM Brazil and one ex-Air UK Fokker F27 Mk200 from the Fokker receivers.
