Hong Kong-based Metrojet has obtained approval from the country's civil aviation department for its maintenance repair facility to work on Hong Kong-registered Boeing Business Jets.
Metrojet added the first BBJ to its fleet of managed aircraft in June 2010 and is operating, managing and maintaining the aircraft on behalf of its owner.
"The BBJ is a great aircraft to add to our fleet and it enhances our position to be the leading business aviation company in Asia," says Metrojet chief executive Björn Näf. "With the growing number of business jets in the region, Metrojet's maintenance department is currently running a 24h operation with full night shift to provide a full range and timely maintenance service to business aircraft owners, including BBJ owners in Hong Kong."
Metrojet's aircraft maintenance service centre has more than 110 maintenance professionals and provides heavy and scheduled checks as well as repair services. A part of Hong Kong Aviation Group, Metrojet is also certificated to work on Gulfstream and Bombardier aircraft. Its fleet includes the Gulfstream G200, G550 and Bombardier Global Express.
"Metrojet's superior charter experience and service level offerings put the company in a great position in the Hong Kong market to support our BBJ customers," says Boeing Business Jets president Stephen Taylor.
Metrojet's BBJ, which can take up to 18 passengers, has a range of 6,210nm (11,500km) and can reach a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82 at altitudes of up to 41,000ft (12,500m).
It is equipped with a guest room, stateroom, a guest lavatory and a VIP lavatory with shower.
