Daher-Socata is showing a 2013 TBM 850 Elite with an eye-catching exterior finish applied following a customer request. The special treatment consists of a bare metal finish across most of the airframe, with gray metal paint on the lower fuselage and composite parts, with a matte black tail. Adding to the TBM 850 Elite’s special look is its full black onyx cabin interior with carbon fiber fittings.

The company says the bare metal finish needed to be investigated and approved by its design office. Once this process was complete the standard primer coat had to be removed from treated skins, involving over 250 man hours of hand work before the application of polishing compounds to bring about a high luster finish, and a final polish phase performed by a specialist company
in California.
