Pratt & Whitney Engine Services' regional service center in Long Beach will be re-locating to a larger facility in Cypress, California, on 1 November.

The new, 23,000ft² building will be 4,500ft² larger than the previous facility-offering about 30% of capacity and space for a new machine room.

"The West Coast of the United States is an important hub for the general aviation and turboshaft sectors," said Raffaele Virgili, vice president, customer service, Pratt & Whitney Canada. "It is important for P&WC to be able to meet the support and servicing needs of operators flying our engines in this region and that is the reason we are increasing our capacity at this facility."

Maintenance capabilities there will include heavy maintenance and light overhauls for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T reduction gearbox including heavy maintenance for the PW200 and 210 engine, the PT6C, the PW535/545 and the PW617/615. The facility will also be able to provide maintenance for the PT6T and PT6A reduction gearboxes.

Pratt & Whitney Canada's repair teams will finish out the end of the year with 95% on-time deliveries for events. It also announces that it has installed 4,500 advanced data acquisition systems on its aircraft. The systems is installed on 200 Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft and has achieved STCs for the Bombardier Q400 and Learjet 60. Approval is pending for the Q300 turboprop and will also appear on the Cessna Grand Caravan.

The engine manufacturer also announced that it has enrolled the 4,000th engine in its Eagle service plan. The aircraft is invested by a Dallas-based operator for their first aircraft, an Embraer Phenom 300.
