China Southern Airlines will outfit Rockwell Collins'  MultiScan threat detection system for weather analysis and its GLU-025 multimode receiver on 66 Airbus A320s, Boeing 777s and next-generation Boeing 737s. Deliveries will begin in 2013.

The systems allow the airline to analyse weather threats and use required navigation performance/area navigation and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast capabilities.

"Our long and trusted relationship with China Southern continues to grow with this latest avionics selection," says Jeff Standerski, vice-president and general manager, air transport systems for Rockwell Collins. "As the aviation industry continues to flourish in China, we're honoured to help assure safety and efficiency for passengers with these highly advanced avionics systems."
