The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight marked the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Britain in style on 10 July, with a Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane commemorative flypast over Buckingham Palace.

Departing at 10:50 from Burghley Park and crossing Podington en route for an eventual arrival at North Burghley airfield at noon, four Spitfires and two Hurricanes were accompanied by four Eurofighter Typhoons currently in service with the RAF, one of which was in the period camouflage it donned in June to commemorate the anniversary of the battle.

The BBMF is administratively part of the RAF No 1 Group and operates from RAF Coningsby, in Lincolnshire.
