Qantas has finalised its long-awaited order for Bombardier Dash 8 Q400s, ordering seven aircraft with options on a further 10 for its QantasLink regional operation. The 72-seat Q400s will be delivered in the first half of 2006. The aircraft will replace some of the older Dash 8-100s operated by QantasLink carriers Eastern Airlines and Sunstate Airlines.

Bombardier’s decision not to exhibit at the EBACE business jet convention in Geneva next month reflects a belief that its marketing dollars can be put to better use elsewhere.
