Qatar Executive, the business aircraft services arm of Qatar Airways, has been awarded its own air operator's certificate by the emirate's civil aviation authority.

Since the all-Bombardier fleet owner began services in 2009, it has been operating under its parent company's AOC.

"The approval opens up extensive business opportunities for our growing business aviation services portfolio on a global scale," says the Doha-based operator and comes hot on the heels of Qatari and European validation Part-145 approval to support Bombardier aircraft registered in Qatar and Europe.

Qatar Executive operates three Challenger 605s, two Global 5000s and one Global XRS and has signed a letter of intent for 10 Global 7000 and 8000 ultra-long-range jets.
