New Indian passenger carrier MDLR Airlines was due to launch services last week using BAE Systems Avro RJ70s. The new carrier's initial route is between Chandigarh and Delhi and it plans to add services to Ranchi and Kolkata soon. MDLR, which has been established by real-estate group MDLR, has leased two RJ70s from BAE and says it plans to add three more later this year. It also says it intends to place orders later this year for 10-15 new regional aircraft.
