Australiawide has finally bought regional carriers Hazelton and Kendell Airlines and is merging them under the name Rex, short for Regional Express. The A$40 million ($21 million) purchase survived last minute delays after unions agreed to a merger plan for the former Ansett units. Integrated schedules will start this month.
