Rockwell Collins Flight Dynamics has secured UK Civil Aviation Authority approval for its head-up guidance system (HGS) on easyJet Boeing 737-300s and added new business with an order for 25 systems for Air Canada's Bombardier CRJ-100 and -200 regional jets.
Low-cost scheduled carrier easyJet is the 17th airline to order the HGS and the first to win CAA approval for its use. The airline has ordered 16 systems, 12 for installation on its new 737-300s and four for retrofit on its -300s.
Air Canada is the seventh CRJ operator to order the HGS, which provides Category IIIa landing capability in runway visual range conditions as low as 700ft (215m).
