Crossair is resuming flights from Zurich to Klagenfurt in Austria using Saab 340s following Austrian regional carrier Tyrolean Airways' decision to drop the route. KLM has ceased domestic services linking Amsterdam Schiphol with Groningen and Enschede. USAirways is expanding services from Atlanta, with additional daily flights to Boston Logan and Washington Reagan National, beginning in August. Low-cost subsidiary MetroJet will begin a four-times-daily service from Atlanta to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, in October. Cargolux has begun a weekly service from Luxembourg to Dallas Fort Worth, using a Boeing 747-400 freighter. Grupo TACA has added 61 destinations to its intra-Central America network through improved schedule co-ordination between its six regional domestic carriers and the Grupo TACA jet operation. The participating regional carriers include SANSA of Costa Rica, INTER of Cuba, INTER of Guatemala, Islena Airlines of Honduras, La Costena of Nicaragua and Aeroperlas of Panama. All six will fly in TACA colours, and their fleets are being rationalised around two types, the Cessna Caravan and ATR 42. Atlas Air has placed a Boeing 747-200 freighter that was leased to SAS with another customer. Atlas says the Scandinavian carrier could not retain the aircraft because of slot restrictions imposed at the new Hong Kong airport. Aeroflot has applied to become Russia's second designated carrier, after Transaero, on services to Israel. The Israeli civil aviation authority has reduced Transaero's weekly flights between Moscow and Tel Aviv from eight to five after the Russian civil aviation authority refused to allow El Al to land in Moscow during daytime. KLM will launch services between Amsterdam and Riyadh, via Jeddah, on 16 June and cancel services from Amsterdam to Sana, Yemen. Palestinian Airlines has begun services from Gaza to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, using 727s.
