Northwest Airlines Cargo will introduce its ninth Boeing 747-200 freighter on 1 September on transpacific services, enabling the carrier to upgrade services from Chicago and New York from shared capacity on a single freighter to full aircraft capacity. The Australian Government has agreed to allow Emirates to introduce an additional 14 flights between Australia and Dubai. The airline, which serves Melbourne daily via Singapore, will be able to fly 21 services a week to Australia. It will add daily flights to Sydney, four a week to Perth and three to Brisbane. Start dates have not been finalised. French Caribbean airlines Air Guadeloupe and Air Martinique are launching services to Miami and Puerto Rico from their island bases. Lufthansa CityLine is launching three times-daily services between Hamburg and London Stansted. Delta Air Lines inaugurated daily non-stop services on 8 June from Atlanta to Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul and Rome, using Boeing 767-300ERs and MD-11s. Beginning on 15 July, Delta will operate daily non-stop flights to Ireland from New York Kennedy, a 767-300 flying to Dublin and continuing to Shannon four days a week, and flying to Shannon, then continuing to Dublin, on the other days. United Airlines is to expand services at its Los Angeles hub, adding 30 daily non-stop flights. Beginning in September, United will add three flights to Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. In October, it will add service to Atlanta and increase the number of flights to Honolulu, Miami and Orlando. United Shuttle will add services to Medford, Reno and Santa Barbara and introduce seven flights to San Diego and four flights to Palm Springs. Debonair has launched three times weekly services from London Luton to Perugia in northern Italy. Midwest Express Airlines will introduce services between Milwaukee and Washington Dulles on 1 September, with two flights in each direction every weekday.
