BWIA has received US approval for services between Port of Spain, Trinidad, and Chicago/Denver via Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, St Kitts and St Lucia. BWIA will operate the services under a codeshare arrangement with United. Southwest Airlines will add services from the winter schedule from Las Vegas to Louisville, Tulsa, Houston Hobby, Reno, Kansas City and Ontario; between Baltimore/ Washington, Orlando and Louisville; and from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood to Jacksonville and Orlando. JetBlue Airways has initiated a daily, non-stop flight between New York's Kennedy International and Ontario International, 56km (102nm) east of Los Angeles. JetBlue starts New York-Oakland, California, overnight flights on 3 August. China Southern Airlines will launch a Boeing 777 service between China and Australia on 6 December. One weekly Guangzhou-Sydney flight will be direct, and the second will include a Melbourne stopover. American Eagle will launch a non-stop Embraer ERJ-145 service from Dallas Fort Worth to Madison on 6 September. Delta Air Lines is seeking US Department of Transportation approval to introduce a second daily service from Atlanta and New York to Paris. The DoT is to allocate 15 new frequencies between the USA and France. Eight frequencies are available now and seven will become available in April. American Airlines and United Airlines are also competing for the new frequencies. KLM will increase services to Beirut to five weekly frequencies from the winter schedule. In November, KLM will take over one of the daily KLM-Northwest services to Detroit, using a Boeing 747-300. Italian regional Gandalf Airlines will introduce services from Milan to Berlin and Madrid from the winter schedule. United Airlines has applied for approval for US-Ivory coast services on a third country codeshare basis with sister Alliance partner Lufthansa.
