Russia is to acquire two Airbus A319 Corporate Jetliners for its government air service, Rossiya for Rb6.7 billion ($237.6 million), the first time it has purchased large foreign aircraft for the company.

The aircraft will enter service from 2012.

Rossiya will also take delivery of two Ilyushin Il-96-300PU widebodies, for delivery from 2013, and four Mil Mi-8MTV helicopters for delivery later this year.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin last year criticised Russia's largest airline, Aeroflot, for ordering large numbers of foreign airliners in preference to Russian aircraft.

Earlier this year, Viktor Khrekov, a spokesman for the Kremlin property department, blamed domestic industry for failing to supply the aircraft necessary for local airlines.
