Ryanair has announced plans to operate flights from Nuremberg next year, as well as increasing services at Cologne and Leipzig.

Nuremberg airport says that the Irish budget carrier will start daily flights from London Stansted airport to the north Bavarian city in its summer 2013 schedule.

This will be complemented by less frequent flights to Alicante and Malaga in Spain; Pisa, Italy; Cagliari, Sardinia; and Porto, Portugal.

Around 190,000 passengers are expected to travel with the carrier during the first six months.

In Cologne, Ryanair will add Malaga and Faro, Portugal to its existing two destinations at the west German city. Malaga and Faro will be served three times a week.

Faro and Pisa will also become new destinations from Leipzig airport, with both locations being served twice a week.
