Thai low-cost carrier Nok Air has committed to order 15 Boeing 737s.

The order comprises eight 737-800s and seven 737 Max aircraft. The deal is valued at $1.45 billion at list prices.

Nok Air will acquire the aircraft through sale and leaseback transactions, says the airline's chief executive Patee Sarasin.

The airline operates 14 737s and will use the new aircraft to replace some of these, he adds. Nok Air will be the first Thai carrier to operate the 737 Max, says Boeing.
