India’s Chimes Aviation has ordered 20 single engine piston Cessna 172-Skyhawks for its aviation academies in Madhya Pradesh and an as yet unnamed new location.
Eleven of the aircraft will be delivered immediately. The remainder will be diesel models and will be delivered before the new academy opens in October.
Cessna also announced sales of six Grand Caravans to Indonesia’s Susi Air.
The six model 208Bs will deliver in 2009 and 2010. Susi already operates eight Grand Caravans and has two more delivering in the first quarter of this year.
The company is expecting to more than treble its passenger numbers from 30,000 last year to more than 100,000 in 2008.
