Trainee pilots can enjoy all the thrills of a flight lesson in a Cessna Skyhawk without leaving the comfort of their own home following the unveiling today of a new interactive training package for private pilots. Pilots who have completed the Computer Based Instruction (CBI) programme, introduced through the Cessna Pilot Centres (CPC) two years ago can now take the next step in their training. The Instrument Computer Based Instruction Programme (I-CBI), a student kit consisting of 28 fully interactive CD-ROMs and related manuals and text book, is designed to be used from home, while travelling or at CPC. The complete flight lesson preview a virtual lesson in a Cessna Skyhawk demonstrates the flight lesson contents. Unveiling the kit, Curt Thomas, manager of the CPCs, said the programme was a response to increased expectations from private pilots.
