Russia's Sokol experimental design bureau has unveiled an armed unmanned air vehicle derivative of its Danem target drone series with key mission systems derived from the Kamov Ka-50 Black Shark helicopter and the Sukhoi Su-25T attack aircraft The new type, designated Dan-Baruk, carries a Shkval electro-optic sensor suite with integrated laser designator to support target engagement using Vikhr missiles. Sokol displayed the system at the Moscow air show in August, with accompanying video presentations that suggests the type is now flying, although its production status remains unknown.
