South Africa's Airlink will launch flights from Johannesburg to Vilanculos in Mozambique and Kasane in Botswana on 22 March.

The regional carrier will operate thrice weekly flights on the Johannesburg-Vilanculos route, before increasing frequencies to five times weekly in August.

The service will initially be operated using one of its 29-seat BAe Jetstream 41s. This will be upgraded to an Embraer ERJ-135 "as soon as demand justifies the capacity upgrade".

On the Johannesburg-Kasane route, Airlink will operate four times weekly flights, becoming a daily service in August.
