EADS Sogerma Services and SAS Technical Services are to co-operate on materiel supply services for their Airbus A320, A330 and A340 work. The deal is between Sogerma's components business centre and SAS's component division. SR Technics has been contracted by Swiss Air Lines to provide heavy maintenance for 12 A320 family aircraft. The contract, valued at SFr20 million ($13.7 million), runs from January 2003 to November 2004. Sabena Technics is to maintain Pratt & Whitney JT8D and JT9D engine components for Volvo Aero Engine Services. Sabena and French airline Europe Airpost have signed a five-year deal covering landing gear overhaul and maintenance on Airpost's 14 Boeing 737-300s and two 737-200s. The contract is valued at €1.2 million ($1.2 million). Lufthansa Technik (LHT) is to provide total engine support for Air Malta's fleet of new Airbus A319s and A320s for 12 years from December 2003. LHT's Powerplant Services in Hamburg will service the CFM56-5B6 engines for the airline's seven A319s and the CFM56-5B4 engines for the five A320s on order. Turkish airline FreeBird has contracted Iberia to maintain components and conduct repairs and overhauls on the Pratt & Whitney JT8Ds powering its Boeing MD-83s, while Air Anatolia has contracted Iberia to repair components for its Boeing 757 fleet. Brazilian airline TAM has linked with Air France Industries (AFI) to develop its avionics capabilities, and contracted AFI with components maintenance for its 57 Airbus A319/A320s and A330s. Air Nostrum has placed a 10-year contract with Industria de Turbo Propulsores to maintain the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW120s powering its 19 Bombardier Dash 8 Q300s and five ATR 72-500s. Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) and Atlantic Turbines International (ATI) have signed a five-year agreement to provide a rotable exchange inventory of P&WC engine parts at ATI's Prince Edward Island, Canada, site. The deal is said to be worth $25 million.
