Russia's Yakutia Airlines has selected SuperJet International aftermarket support for component MRO on its two Sukhoi Superjet 100s.

The carrier signed a three-year, flight hour-based 'SuperCare' component MRO contract with SuperJet International, the Venice-based marketing and aftermarket services joint venture between Sukhoi Holdings and Alenia Aermacchi.

The deal covers equipment repair and spare part pool access for the 93-seat twinjet.

Ivan Prostit, Yakutia's chief executive, says it is noteworthy that the agreement was not only reached on the basis of the maintenance programme and expected component reliability, "but also in-service experience and reports".

Aside from component MRO services, SuperJet International will provide Yakutia with flight crew and technical training as well as on-site support at the airline's base in Yakutsk.

The carrier had ordered two Superjets, the second of which was delivered on 31 January 2013.
