German carrier Air Berlin is cancelling 10 of the Boeing 787 aircraft it has on order, and rescheduling deliveries of Boeing 737s.

The airline had 25 787-8s on order but is cutting this backlog to 15, and halving the number on option to five.

It signed the order for the aircraft in July 2007. No engine selection had been made, according to data from Boeing.

Air Berlin says it is also pushing back the delivery of nine 737s - originally due to arrive over 2010-11 - by several years, to 2015.
