German carrier Air Berlin is to open three new long-haul services from Berlin including a transatlantic connection to Miami and a link to Dubai.
The airline will also serve the Kenyan city of Mombasa.
Air Berlin says the routes, from Berlin Tegel, will be introduced from the winter schedule, and reinforce the carrier's position ahead of the opening of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport next year.
It will station an Airbus A330-200 at Tegel for the purpose of serving the additional destinations.
Dubai, which will be served thrice-weekly, will become the airline's first regular Middle Eastern route from Germany.
The Miami route will be flown twice per week while Mombasa will be a weekly service.
These routes will bring to nine the number of destinations served by Air Berlin from the German capital. Chief executive Joachim Hunold says the expansion will "strength the airline's position in Berlin for years to come".
