SkyTeam partner Air France is to present a short-haul network reorganisation strategy to staff by the end of October.

The strategy will restructure the carrier’s point-to-point operations which are conducted by Air France and its regional brand Hop.

Hop chief executive Lionel Guerin will be put in charge of defining and implementing the plan, which will group all of the point-to-point activity.

“This new organisation should allow to clarify the scope of each of the brands,” says Air France.

It says that it will “align the key functions” of its short-haul operation to “continue to guarantee” a competitive cost structure.

Air France chief Frederic Gagey says the strategy must depend on “simple and clear” principles.

“Each market requirement must be met by a specific commercial offer and an adapted economic model, whether in terms of costs or revenue,” he says.

“This new simplified organisation will enable the Air France Group to be more reactive and more in touch with its customers’ expectations.”
