Air New Zealand has received its first Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, scheduled to land in Auckland on 24 December.

The carrier ordered five of the type in 2007 and plans to use the first three aircraft on flights between Auckland, Los Angeles and London starting in April.

The aircraft is configured with 50 premium economy, 44 business premier and 244 economy seats.

Air New Zealand has introduced a new seating product on the aircraft including a "Skycouch", which lies flat, in the first 10 rows of economy. Premium economy "Spaceseats" offer a larger seat area, more room between passengers and seats that lean forward when they're reclined to preserve the personal space of the passenger sitting behind.
