Airbus's former Americas chief executive, Barry Eccleston, is to take up a position on the board of Central European budget airline Wizz Air.
Eccleston will serve as an independent non-executive director for the carrier.
He recently stepped down as the head of Airbus Americas, having been in the post since 2005, and was succeeded earlier this year by Jeffrey Knittel.
Wizz Air says that Eccleston – who also led the International Aero Engines venture, among other senior aerospace roles – will join its board from 1 June.
It adds that it will benefit from his "significant expertise" and knowledge in both the technical and business spheres.
Wizz exclusively operates Airbus A320-family jets.
