A government-imposed curfew is continuing to affect flights to and from Egypt, forcing airlines to adjust flight times to within daylight hours.

The curfew, which follows days of civil unrest across the country, is in place between 15:00 and 08:00.

British Airways has re-timed its daily service from London Heathrow to Cairo, which normally lands at around midnight, as a result of the curfew, says a spokesman for the carrier.

From tomorrow BA will operate its Cairo service via Athens, in order to "pick up fresh crew" and ensure that it operates into Cairo "well within daylight hours".

The spokesman adds that flights to Sharm el-Sheikh remain unaffected.

Egyptair confirms that it is "carrying out slight changes to its flight schedule because of the current situation in Cairo".
