Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 206 for September 2012 as 220 new orders were offset by 14 cancellations.

In the highlights of the month, GECAS ordered 75 Boeing 737 Max aircraft and ten 737-800s while CCB Financial, the leasing arm of China Construction Bank, ordered 50 Comac C919s. In Ireland, Avolon Aerospace Leasing Limited ordered 15 737 Max aircraft and ten 737-800s, while finance house Aircraft Purchase Fleet cancelled 14 Airbus A320s which were due to be operated by Alitalia. In Japan, ANA ordered 11 787-9s.

Boeing totalled 132 news orders while Comac received 50. Airbus, Evektor and Bombardier totalled 13, nine and six respectively.

In the narrowbody market, 112 737s were ordered, of which 90 were Max aircraft. Orders of 13 A320 family aircraft and 50 C919s were also placed. The widebody orders of the month were for 17 787s, five 747s and a single 777. In the regional jet market, the orders were for six An-158s and one 228 while turboprop aircraft orders were for nine EV-55 Outbacks, six Dash 8s, two ATR72s and a single PC-6 Turbo Porter.

Overall, the commercial order backlog ended September at 10,241, down four on the previous month.
