An Ariane 5 has successfully launched two satellites into orbit on the launch system's 71st flight.

The launch from Kourou, French Guiana, was declared a success by operator Arianespace, though the satellite operators have yet to weigh in.

Eutelsat 25B/Es'hail 1 and GSAT-7 were successfully deployed from the Ariane, completing another textbook launch for the system.

Eutelsat 25B/Es'hail 1 is a joint-build project for satellite communications firm Eutelsat and a Qatari company. The satellite will provide video and government communications throughout the Middle East.

GSAT-7 is an Indian military communications satellite, the first from that nation specifically for use by its naval forces. It represents a great increase in capability for the Indian Navy, which is in the midst of a major expansion.
