Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, parent of freight carriers Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo, has rescheduled the delivery of three of 12 Boeing 747-8 Freighters it has on order.

The company was initially scheduled to take six aircraft in 2010 and the balance in 2011. Chief executive William Flynn revealed the revision, saying: "We are in continuing discussions with Boeing and have agreed on the rescheduling of three of our aircraft into 2012 and 2013."

Deliveries of the 747-8F have suffered several slips due to programme delays. First delivery to launch customer Cargolux has been pushed back by around 12 months and is currently scheduled for late 2010.
