British Airways faces the possibility of further industrial action with the union representing its flight attendants planning to issue another ballot.
A spokesman for the Unite union confirms that a "fresh ballot" will be sent to its BA cabin crew members, details of which will be forthcoming "in the next few days". He declines to disclose any further information.
BA "will await notification" of the planned ballot and, in the meantime, "remains available for talks", says a spokeswoman for the carrier. She declines to comment on whether any new talks are planned.
Today marks the last of a series of five-day strikes by cabin crew.
BA chief executive Willie Walsh told attendees at the IATA annual general meeting in Berlin this week that "we're going to hold out for as long as it takes". He added: "We have rewarded trade unions for doing the wrong things and haven't been brave enough in the past to stand up and say no."
Earlier this month the carrier put the cost of the continuing strike action at £7 million ($10 million) a day.
