Bombardier is preparing to deliver the first Learjet 70 and 75 business jets to European customers following EASA validation of the light and superlight aircraft on 12 September.

The pair are revamped versions of the Learjet 40 and 45, which entered service in 2004 and 1998, respectively.

The remodelled aircraft feature more powerful Honeywell TFE731-40BR engines, a Garmin G5000-based Vision flightdeck and a new interior.

The types entered service in the USA and Canada late last year. So far eight Learjet 70s and 22 Learjet 75s have been delivered, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Fleets database.
