Bombardier is boosting the range of its Global 5000 business jet from 8,800km (4,800nm) to 9,620km for aircraft ordered from 1 February.
The improvement will be featured on all production aircraft as of 2012 and will be also available as an option from the middle of next year on aircraft previously ordered and not delivered. Bombardier says it is considering offering the option for current production and in-service aircraft.
To obtain the 740km range increase, Bombardier has boosted the Global 5000's maximum take-off weight by 1,270kg (2,800lb) to 42,000kg, enabling the aircraft to carry more fuel and boosting "travel flexibility to include city pairs such as London to Los Angeles, Sao Paulo-Paris, Hong Kong to Wellington, and Dubai to Perth", it says.
