Good Week

Pilatus

Strong sales of its PC-21 military trainer, as well as the unveiling of the new version of the PC-12 single-engine turboprop, marked a successful 2007 for the Swiss aircraft manufacturer. Results out last week show revenues up 15% to SFr656 million ($656 million) and deliveries up by 13 to 115 aircraft. However, despite an order backlog of SFr923 million, which gives it its best ever "nest egg", the company warns that the weak dollar is hitting margins.

Bad Week

BA Bosses

Chief executive Willie Walsh may have survived for now, but the London Heathrow Terminal 5 fiasco has claimed its first senior British Airways scalps.Gareth Kirkwood, director of operations, and David Noyes, director of customer services, are to leave the company, to be replaced by a single chief operations officer. The UK flag carrier said last week that it may not be able to complete the full transfer of services to the beleagured terminal until October.
