Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific plans to launch long-haul services, starting 7 October, on the Manila-Dubai route.

It will operate a daily service on the route using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, says Alex Reyes, general manager for the carrier's long-haul division.

The first of eight leased A330s will be delivered in June, with the second aircraft by October, adds Reyes. Two more A330s will be delivered in 2014.

All four aircraft will have 400 seats in a single-class configuration.

Innovata schedules show that Cebu Pacific will compete with Emirates on the route.
