Cessna secured two sizeable orders from Chinese customers at the AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in late July.

Shanghai-based operator Joy Air acquired 20 Grand Caravan EX amphibians for its regional air tour operation. The single-engined turboprops – equipped with Wipaire’s Wipline 8750 floats – will be built at the Cessna-AVIC Aircraft facility in Shijiazhuang, Heibei Province. Deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year.

Shandong Hairuo General Aviation also placed a follow-on order for six Skyhawk 172 piston singles.

Its first contract – for two of the six-seat, high-wing aircraft – was signed in April at the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition in Shanghai. The Garmin G1000-equipped 172s will be used by the Binzhou-based GA services company and local Cessna sales representative for commercial pilot training.
