China Southern Airlines posted double-digit growth in passenger and cargo traffic in October.

Total RPKs grew by 11% from a year ago, says the Guangzhou-based carrier.

Domestic RPKs rose by 10%, regional RPKs grew by 32% and international RPKs increased by 18%.

The total number of passengers carried rose by 12% to 6.1 million.

Domestic numbers grew by 12% to 5.6 million, regional numbers increased by 21% to 129,000 and international numbers were up 11% to 362,500.

In terms of capacity, total ASKs rose by 9%. Domestic ASKs were up 10%, regional 22% and international 4%.

The carrier's overall passenger load factor increased by 1.7 percentage points to 78.3%. The domestic passenger load factor grew by 0.4 percentage points to 79.4%, the regional passenger load factor increased by 5.5 percentage points to 70.6% and the international load factor rose by 8.8 percentage points to 72.4%.

As for cargo, overall RFTKs grew 16%. Domestic cargo traffic rose 11%, regional 4% and international 23%.
