Citilink has placed a firm order for 25 Airbus A320neo aircraft, in a deal worth $2.4 billion at list prices.

The contract was signed in December 2012 and is the Garuda Indonesia low-cost subsidiary's first direct purchase from the airframer, says Airbus.

Airbus did not provide the delivery schedule for the aircraft.

The latest order means Citilink will, in future, have at least 35 A320neos in its fleet. In 2011, Indonesian flag carrier Garuda ordered 15 A320s and 10 A320neos for the low-cost carrier.

Citilink recently signed a letter of intent for 25 ATR 72-600 turboprops, with options for a further 25 of the type. The first of these turboprops will be delivered in September.

Data from Flightglobal Pro shows that the carrier has a fleet of 12 A320s and five Boeing 737s.
